About SAND CUP
SAND CUP is a small studio that makes drinkware from pure titanium. We started with a simple question: why do so many everyday cups change the taste of what you drink? Plastic can hold on to odors, some metals leave a faint metallic note, and fragile ceramics rarely survive a commute. Titanium answered most of those problems at once. It is light, strong, does not rust, and is widely used in medical implants because the body tolerates it so well.
Our signature piece is the ONE OF ONE cup. Each cup is finished by hand with an open flame. Heat grows a microscopically thin oxide layer on the titanium surface, and that layer bends light into blue, violet, gold and indigo. No paint, no dye and no coating are used. Because the flame, the angle and the timing are never exactly the same twice, no two cups ever look identical.
What we care about
Honest materials. The cup body and filter are pure titanium. The lid uses food-grade Tritan and silicone seals.
Things that last. A titanium cup can stay in daily use for decades. We would rather sell one cup that lasts than ten that end up in a landfill.
Clear information. Our journal explains how titanium works, how the colors form and how to care for your cup, so you can decide with real facts.
Where we are
SAND CUP is based in Hangzhou, China, a city with more than a thousand years of tea culture. That tradition shapes how we design: a tea filter that is easy to clean, a lid that opens with one hand, and a shape that feels calm on a desk.
